here is a series of Asemic glyph fetish / totems (or [g(i)ft](s)
the idea revolves around primitive thought forms mixed freely with certain alchemical ideas..
each [g(i)ft] is both an unknowable sound, and an unknowable series of sounds.
each [g(i)ft] is both an unknowable letter, and an unkowable series of letters (a word).
each [g(i)ft] is both an unknowable text (sentence), and an unknowable series of sentences (text)..
each [g(i)ft] is both an unknowable image, and an unknowable series of images.
this ability to range the gaps in identity flows through the alchemical idea of ‘as above, so below’..
and their resonance to the primitive lies in their ability to elicit feelings purely based in their construction, an animistic response to abstraction as part of the continuum of the concrete, yet remaining virtual, ie the totem..
totemics engage fully with virtual connections rendering them concrete in the mind of the participant.
